Stand for Council 2024
Are you interested in becoming a Pyrenees Shire Councillor?
Council elections will be held across Victoria in October 2024 and Pyrenees Shire Council is encouraging anyone interested in nominating for election to find out more.
The Council has partnered with the Municipal Association of Victoria’s Stand for Council campaign, which is built on the understanding that a strong, healthy and inclusive democracy is best served with elected officials with differing skills, experience and views.
Stand for Council includes a series of information sessions for prospective candidates to better understand the role and responsibilities of a councillor and their council. A local session will be held in Ballarat on 8 August, with others being planned for Avoca and Beaufort in the near future.
